Where's the Tea?
02:30
|
|||
Smoke from the tea
And slim flakes of flatbread
The crowds around me
Keep talking and my head
Keeps sinking beneath
Into the table I see
People are looking
In my direction
These faces are smoking
Their hash by the session
Their oxygen tanks
From which rings of murky grey shine
Take me home I have lost my sense of time
Far away my perception seems to fly
Bring me home, keep me safe from this
Life seems
To whiz past my cognisance
Show me
The route to the bog which is
Clouding my brain in this sinister fashion
With ease
Fight by the pain
And channel the madness
Then sit through the rain
Till these thoughts turn to sadness
So muddled and warped
There to remind you, the tea
Where's the tea?
Take me home I have lost my sense of time
Far away my perception seems to fly
Bring me home, keep me safe
From this..

Tameez (Acoustic)
02:24
|
|||
My eyes are shut, his lips are dry
He smiles and asks again "Should we get high?
After all what else is left to do?"
My spider hands reach for the box
He says "I like your hairstyle Goldilocks
Maybe I should grow my hair out too!"
What your reasons may well be, wilting over in yourself
I pray to God to keep you well
When your thoughts all turn to dust and settle neatly on your shelf
Don't feel afraid, we're all in need of help
If you promise to be safe
You needn't die today
I wonder if there's more to life than living
He's clinging on, not letting go
I let him know it's late I should be home
"Forget it man, just stay the night and blaze"
My spider hands reach for the box
I call up mother and she's very cross
Haven't spent much time with her in days
With the thought of him and me self destructing in our cell
She hopes that we are happy and well
Our ideas start to rust, now my skulls an empty shell
And I'm afraid I don't think he can tell
He smiles and tries to prove that he's
As happy as can be
I guess this life's not worth the shits I'm giving..

Pest
04:28
|
|||
Spectral glass, crust of water
Shiny spectrum roads can see
That at last I have faltered
Tumbled down in shame and misery
It's been too long now it begins to breathe
Oh yea
Its eyes are sharp and sharper are its teeth
Oh yea
It's coming here, letting me know
Winter greens, dazzling dragon flies
Birch trunk peels along the snow
Sing to me and it's gratifying
Now it's late I have to go
Its dagger fangs have punctured through my skin
Oh yea
My eyes can see it treacherously grin
Oh yea
It's inching near, not letting me go
Time is but another pest that's whizzing through my head
Listen to yourself
It sounds like your brain's dead
Doppelgangers pester me, my vision's turned against
I'm listening to myself
It sounds like I need some help
So I stay awake, though my heart wants to rest
And things weigh heavy on the soul
And I lay awake, devoured by stress
Now I'm out of control
Its bubbly gums are snickering at me
Oh yea
A lovely sum of shameful misery
Oh yea
So let me be, I'm begging it so
Now the misty mornings beckon me with icy hands
I'm watching every step
I still slip, I'm wasted
Crawl into this shifty hole my heart wants not to rest
The scent that I hate to know
Is food and wine from days ago
Time is but another pest that's whizzing through my head
Listen to yourself
It sounds like your brain's dead
Doppelgangers pester me my vision's turned against
I'm listening to myself
It sounds like I need some help

Pine needles tickle the air in a slovenly fashion
like the gruvulous gloves of the Grinch or the Onceler.
Picking out leaves off the curry with action
as she readies enough for the lunch and the supper.
Shift in and out the colonial colossus
with patterns encaustically embedded beneath
our shoes as we drift past the dusty red Jesus
and out to the Dipteran plant sanctuary
Glistening Ornithurines and street mutts alike
beetles of luridly colors that bite.
Toads from the Indus and fierce black kites
join Oma for teatime and prayer!
Much to her sheer….. delight!
I sat by your feet as you shuffled through beads
of a different rosary daily!
One which I wore round my neck till I lost it
but all of your beauty I’ve got still!
Play with me today, where the lemon trees banter
and walk with me away, to the gardens that grow!
And the orchids and crotons,
they dance under waters of silver and green
and the stray cats will frequently greet!
Elchi bananas and coconuts drop by the season
exceedingly fresher than fruit from the market.
The uglies have taken up space beyond reason
No room for our car, where the fuck should we park it?
Mangoes are dried out to prep for the pickle
the ceiling fan spins and the tartiness spreads.
Miskeen with a grin gives a hand in the kitchen
and Niffy does too, but I’m eating her head!
Raggedy critters and verminous beasts
from down in the sewers and up past the trees.
Gray shrews and brown bats and fairytale fairies
come especially for Oma’s Hail Mary’s
much to my very….. surprise!
I sat in the shade that the lemon tree made
and I waited, she smiled as she said
“In the hour of our death, Amen”
Marking the end of her daily routine
drank her cup of tea!
Play with me today, where the lemon trees banter
and walk with me away, to the gardens that grow
and the orchids and crotons,
they dance under waters of silver and green
and the stray cats will frequently greet!
